Hi everyone:
Formatting a poster for your event is very important! If the salient details are not clearly written. and layout is not easy to read, your event will suffer. Here are some suggested guidelines for making your announcements easy to read and attractive to theatregoers:
TITLE: At the top of the page in 20-30 point font.
DATE/SHOWTIME: directly underneath and 2/3 the size of title. (14-20 point)
LOCATION/TICKET/INFO: Spaced starting at mid-point of poster either to the left or right side in a block format in 12-14 point.
CONTACT INFO OR TO BUY TICKETS LINK: Somewhere at bottom half of the poster and in PROMINENT font so that theatregoers can easily read (12-14 point).
ARTIST INFO: Keep it short, sweet & sexy. Detailed info about your artists belongs on the show programme, not the event notice. Place away from the salient details.
Below are examples of successfully designed event notices. Notice how no two are the same...just stay loosely within the guidelines and you can't go wrong. If you have any questions when designing a flamenco poster, or need some assistance, you can contact me at:
